My language learning journey

Learning a language has taken me so far in life.
After doing my GCSEs and A-Levels in French and German in Cheslyn Hay, South Staffordshire, I went to university which gave the me opportunity to live in Tübingen in Germany, then Paris and Strasbourg before spending a few years in Nice in the South of France.

All this because of the languages I had learnt and the confidence that they gave me.
And that is the key to language learning – having that bit of confidence.
The confidence to have a go and make yourself understood in a foreign language. You do not have to be perfect, you do not have to be fluent, you just have to have the will to communicate.
This is the thinking behind all of my teaching. I give students the opportunity to use French for meaningful purposes in order to achieve their goal.
I am starting some more French classes in September 2025 for beginners, intermediate and advanced learners. They will take face-to-face or on zoom.
