"I thought I was just here to colour in..."

Last week, I walked into a painting class thinking it would be a breeze. I genuinely thought the outlines would be there waiting for me. Then the teacher said the words that struck fear into my heart: "Now, let's draw the cow."
I panicked. I wanted to bolt for the door. I was convinced I couldn't do it.
But fast forward two hours? I walked out feeling proud as punch of my masterpiece!

It reminded me exactly of how many of my students feel when they first step into a French lesson. That "What have I got myself into?" feeling is totally normal! But I can tell you from experience: it is so worth it. The sense of achievement when you finally nail that pronunciation or hold your first conversation is even better than finishing a painting.
